The drive to InterContinental Istanbul
The route runs from Istanbul Airport along the Northern Marmara motorway, joins the O-1 and comes down through Şişli and Harbiye into Taksim. About 40 kilometres and normally 45 to 60 minutes. The motorway section is reliable; Cumhuriyet Caddesi below Şişli is where the variance lives.
Asker Ocağı Caddesi is one-way and connects to a loop that is easy to miss. A driver who overshoots has to go around Taksim again, which at 18:00 costs fifteen minutes. Our chauffeurs come in from the Harbiye side, which puts the car at the entrance on the first pass.
